Heliotrope gem: Isis-Tyche, Artemis of Ephesos, Hecate
Side A transverse oval and flat, (Shape 8). Greyish-green jasper with a small red spot, intact.
Side A: In the centre stands the Ephesian Artemis, facing forward, dressed in a long robe with a veil and a crown (modius) on her head. Her upper arms are held close to her body, while her forearms extend outward. To her right is a six-pointed star; to her left, a crescent moon open to the top. She holds wool fillets in her hands. On the right stands Hecate trimorph, clad in a long robe and holding flaming torches. Each of her three heads is topped with a modius, and the goddess is dressed in peplos. On the left stands Isis-Tyche, wearing a tunic and mantle. Her left hand rests on a steering oar, her right hand holds a cornucopia, and she is crowned with a modius.
