Seal matrix
Rounded oval silver pendant with an intaglio in the centre, surrounded by an inscription. On the back, a central ridge extends to the top. Nearly complete; the suspension loop at the top is broken off.
Seal legend: +SIGILL:ALANI:DE:DVNTVNE → Sigill(um) Alani de Duntune. ‘Seal of Alan of Dunton'.

Gem
Horizontal oval carnelian intaglio with a cream inclusion. A rider in profile on horseback moving left, accompanied by a second horse following close behind; there are two protrusions extending from the rider's back, which may represent a cloak or reins. Complete and well preserved.
