Upright oval rock crystal gem in a gold mount, the top of which has a loop for suspension. Damage at the top of side B. Both the gem and the mount are post-antique.
Purchased from Gorny and Mosch, Munich. Formerly in the private collection V. L.
Side A: Cock-headed Anguipes to front, in armour, head in profile to the left, left hand holding a whip, right hand, a shield. Around the figure, Greek inscription in vertical letters, starting at the bottom left: αβρα, continuing on the right: σαξ̣ι. On the left side of the figure: γ, on the right: η; below: ιαω → Ἄβρασαξ, letters, Ἰάω.
Side B: Plain.
