Chalcedony gem: Chnoubis (A) Chnoubis-sign, Χνουμίς (B)
Milky white chalcedony gem; side A upright, side B transverse oval, both slightly convex. (Shape 4). Intact.
Side A: Upright, lion-headed Chnoubis with seven rays around the head.
Side B: Cluster of signs resembling the Chnoubis-sign with four vertical strokes and missing the horizontal one; followed by three further characteres or letters. Greek inscription above the signs, some letters upside down (υμ) and in mirror writing (ν): χνουμισ → Χνουμίς.
