Agate gem: Anguipes
Light brown layered agate. Upright oval, both faces flat. (Shape 8). Small chip on the upper right edge.
Side A: Frontal view of a cock-headed Anguipes in armour, left hand raised high and holding a whip, right hand supporting an oval shield bearing the roughly inscribed letters ιαω → Ἰάω. Letters in the free field to the right of the figure (from right to left: ακ) and below it: α.
Side B: Plain.
