Heliotrope gem: Anguipes, Ἰάω (A) Ares, vocales (B)
Both sides flat and upright oval. (Shape 8–9). Green jasper with red spots (heliotrope), damaged at the lower left and right edges.
Side A: Frontal view of a cock-headed Anguipes in armour, head turned to the right. Right hand raised and holding a whip, left hand hidden behind an oval shield with a Greek inscription in three lines: χφ|γιιηαω|ιω → vocales. There are seven six-pointed stars around the shield. Greek inscription around the figure: ιηω ιαω ιαη ιεηιαουο ζ (retrograd) δ (upside down) ηηηζυσεμ → voces including Ἰάω and variant of Ἰάω.
Side B: On the left, a snake entwined mummy standing to right (based on close observation by Á. M. Nagy in 2025, pace Weiss: Ares). Greek inscription in seven lines: αεηιουω|εηιουω|ηιουω|ιουω|ουω||υω|ω → the Greek vowel series in pterygoma form.
