Orange-red carnelian gem, transverse oval, both faces flat, edge rounded. (Shape 9c). Intact.
Bequest of W. Gedney Beatty, 1941

Side A: Undecorated.
Side B: Helios driving a quadriga, standing to front, head turned left, with mantle floating behind his back on the right. The figure raises his right hand in greeting, his left hand is lowered beside the body. Two horses turn left, two right, the heads of the pole horses face each other. The wheels of the chariot are shown in profile behind the horses.
